Sustainable Journeys are created with our expert local partners with a pragmatic and enabling approach to being more sustainable. We cannot promise sustainable perfection, but we can promise you the opportunity to travel better by thinking about every step. We focus on travelling outside of peak season to best protect against the negative impacts of over-tourism. We consider the places explored to ensure the benefit of your holiday spend is spread where possible into more rural economies. We offer rail add-on options from the UK where that is possible with our partner Byway; but where flying is offered or needed we look at non-stop and more modern efficient aircraft; and we ensure we do not enable short-break travel by air to ensure some level of ‘carbon mitigation’.

When planning travel for our journeys we seek to use more carbon-friendly transportation, such as electric vehicles (or hybrid cars when the charging infrastructure is so far insufficient), bicycles, or rail. We consider the places included in our journeys to support accommodations and activities that are environmentally conscious and or that support the social and economic needs of local communities. Our goal is to offer incredible holidays whilst enabling you to be more sustainable in your travels.
